Search and rescue saves dog from cliff in Russell County

JAMESTOWN, Ky. (CNN) – This is Waylon the dog, who has a new group of best friends.

Russell County Search and Rescue in Kentucky got a call at 3 a.m. Saturday that Waylon was trapped.

The pup got stuck on a bluff that’s 170 feet tall.

Rescuers had to wait for the morning sun to launch their plan to rescue Waylon.

When day broke, they used a rope system to lower a rescuer to him.

Then they pulled the rescuer and Waylon back up to safety.

The pooch was then reunited with his owner.
