HOT…BUT NOT AS BRUTALLY HOT
We’re almost done with the first heat wave of Summer ’26 but that doesn’t mean the heat is leaving. It just means the heat won’t be quite as bad. We’ll still have hot temperatures and humid conditions into next week. We’ll see afternoon highs in the low to mid-90s into the middle of next week. We should catch a bit of a break as a cold front moves into the area and cools temperatures into the upper 80s for the second half of next week. Morning lows will stay in the low to mid-70s.
Aside from the typical afternoon popcorn thunderstorms that form with the heat of the afternoon, our best chance of storms looks to arrive toward the middle of next week with the cold front. For the weekend, we’re not expecting any widespread severe weather but if any storms pop up over the holiday weekend, they have the potential to reach severe levels with torrential rains and damaging wind, all thanks to the heat.
